How do we know that God chose us before we were born?

Answered in 1 source

Romans 9:11 states that God's purpose according to election stands before our actions.

The doctrine of election teaches that God chose individuals for salvation before they were born or made any decision about good or evil (Romans 9:11). This doctrine is grounded in the belief that God's will is paramount and not contingent upon human actions. Ephesians 1:4-5 further affirms this, stating that we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world. This shows that God's choice is based solely on His purpose and grace, making it clear that salvation is a work of God's sovereign will, not of our merit.
