How do we know that God comforts us in suffering?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture assures us that the Holy Spirit is our comforter, providing peace and strength in times of suffering.

In Romans 8, Paul reassures believers that they are not left alone in their suffering; the Holy Spirit bears witness that we are children of God and comforts us in our trials. The concept of comfort is significant in the Christian faith, as we experience various hardships. The Spirit enables us to endure and find peace knowing that our suffering is temporary and will lead to greater glory. Paul conveys that even when we feel overwhelmed, God is actively providing comfort, sustainable hope, and renewal. This divine assurance allows us to rejoice in suffering as we anticipate the glory that is to come.
