How do we know that God considers us His friends?

Answered in 1 source

God considers us His friends through our faith in Jesus Christ and our obedience to His commands.

In John 15:14-15, Jesus clearly presents that friendship with God is conditional upon our obedience and belief in Him. Those who have faith and yield themselves to Christ are recognized as His friends. This concept reflects the depth of intimacy and knowledge shared in the relationship, as Jesus states He has made known all that He heard from the Father to His friends. It signifies that as believers in Christ, we are drawn into a relationship that includes revelation and purpose, diverging from that of simply being His servants.
