How do we know that God does not see sin in His people?

Answered in 1 source

God's declaration in Scripture assures that He does not see sin in His people due to Christ's sacrifice.

God's perspective on sin in His people is rooted in the completed work of Christ. In Numbers 23:21, we read that God does not behold iniquity in Israel, which reflects His divine justice and mercy. The atonement provided by Jesus ensures that all sins have been paid for, canceling any charges against believers. This does not mean God's children are without sin, but rather that their sins do not define their standing before Him. God's justice requires that He not hold believers accountable for sin since that penalty was borne by Christ. This foundational truth should cause believers to rejoice in their forgiven status and God's unchanging love.
