How do we know that God does not unfairly choose some over others?

Answered in 1 source

God's choice is based on His sovereign will, not on human merit or fairness (Romans 9:14-16).

The notion of fairness often arises from human perspectives, failing to grasp the truth of God's sovereignty. In Romans 9:14-16, Paul asks, 'Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.' God's choices are rooted in His will and purpose, not in human merit. When we confront our sin and understand that we justly deserve God's wrath, we begin to see grace as an act of divine mercy rather than an obligation. It humbles us; knowing God's choices reflect His glory, not our worthiness, reinforces the understanding that no one can boast before Him.
