Scripture indicates that God is actively involved in redirecting the ambitions of His people to prevent pride and disillusionment. He understands that the desire for worldly success can lead to our spiritual downfall, as increasing possessions often draw the heart away from Him. By allowing our ambitions to fail or by reducing our worldly comforts, God keeps us focused on our ultimate hope, which is the eternal richness found in Him and not in this transient world.
