How do we know that God gathers His elect?

God gathers His elect through the means of the gospel, as seen in Matthew 13:47 where the net signifies the gospel netting in all kinds of people. The assurance comes from God’s promise that 'all that the Father gives to Me will come to Me' (John 6:37). The elect are chosen from before the foundation of the world, as indicated in Ephesians 1:4-5, and the gospel is the means by which they are called. Though we preach universally, God knows His own, and they will respond to the call of the gospel.
