How do we know that God gives freely?

Answered in 1 source

God's giving is depicted as unconditional and free, originating from His sovereign grace without any precondition.

The Scripture makes it clear that God gives freely, especially emphasizing this in Romans 8:32 where it states, 'He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?' This indicates that God's gifts are not contingent upon our actions or merits but are given out of His grace. God's generosity is without strings attached; there's nothing we must do to merit His gifts. His giving exemplifies His divine nature. Furthermore, when Jesus states in Luke 12:32, 'Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom,' it reinforces that His will is to give abundantly and willingly to those who belong to Him.
