How do we know that God gives the increase in our efforts?

Answered in 1 source

We know God gives the increase because Scripture teaches that human efforts to plant and water the Gospel are ineffective without His divine intervention, as seen in 1 Corinthians 3:6.

In 1 Corinthians 3:6, Paul writes, 'I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.' This emphasizes the doctrine of grace where human actions, though necessary, cannot produce spiritual results without God's blessing. The success of the Gospel depends entirely on God's sovereignty. While people may plant seeds of faith and nurture them, it is only through God's power that these seeds take root and grow. This assurance leads Christians to rely not on their skills or eloquence, but on God's ability to bring spiritual life to those they witness to.
