How do we know that God gives us faith to believe?

Answered in 2 sources

Scripture confirms that faith is a gift from God, granted by the Holy Spirit to those who are born again.

In the context of salvation and walking in faith, it is essential to recognize that faith is not an inherent trait within us but a divine gift from God. As indicated in Ephesians 2:8-9, faith is described as a grace given so that no one can boast about their own ability to believe. When a person is born again through the Holy Spirit, they are granted God-given faith to believe in Christ. This transformative work is highlighted by the understanding of being taught by God, where true faith responds to the revelation of Christ. Therefore, all authentic belief and trust in Jesus arise from the sovereign work of God in the believer’s heart.
