How do we know that God has given us mercy?

Answered in 1 source

We see God's mercy through our calling and the grace we experience.

Paul states in 2 Corinthians 4:1 that we have this ministry as we have received mercy. This indicates that our understanding of mercy comes from recognizing God's grace in calling us and enabling us to serve. Our very ability to preach and live out the gospel is underpinned by the mercy shown to us by God. It is through this lens of mercy that we understand our identity and mission as believers. Thus, our confidence and perseverance in ministry come from the assurance that it is God's mercy that sustains us.
