How do we know that God is concerned with our hearts during worship?

Answered in 1 source

God desires our hearts to be in tune with Him, as shown in His rebuke of hypocritical worship.

God has made it clear throughout Scripture that He values the condition of our hearts over mere external rituals. In Mark 7:6-8, Jesus calls out the Pharisees for adhering strictly to their traditions while neglecting God's commandments. This shows that God is not pleased with worship that is devoid of sincere intention; He seeks true homage and reverence from His people. Additionally, in 1 Samuel 16:7, the Lord reminds us that He looks at the heart, not external appearances. Thus, worship should stem from a heart transformed by the Holy Spirit, reflecting genuine honor and love for God.
