How do we know that God is just and saves sinners?

Answered in 1 source

We know God is just and saves sinners because He does not clear the guilty but offers salvation through His Son (Isaiah 45:21).

God’s justice is emphasized in the scriptures, specifically when it is stated, 'I will by no means clear the guilty' (Exodus 34:7). This clarity about God's justice underscores His inflexible righteousness. However, even though He holds us accountable, He provides a path to salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. At the cross, God demonstrated both justice and mercy by punishing sin through Christ, who bore the sins of many without having committed any wrong Himself. Thus, the atonement illustrates God's commitment to justice while simultaneously providing the means for sinners to be reconciled to Him, demonstrating that He is a just God who saves sinners (Isaiah 53:5).
