How do we know that God is merciful and holy?

Answered in 1 source

The experience of God in glory reveals His holiness and our sinfulness more than we can imagine.

When the child of God dies, they experience the holiness of God firsthand and recognize how much more merciful He is than they previously understood. As Isaiah experienced in Isaiah 6, seeing God’s holiness caused him to realize his own wretchedness. The closer we are to God's glory, the clearer our understanding of our sinfulness becomes. In this divine encounter, believers will be astounded by God's mercy that saved them despite their deep-seated sin. This profound realization only enhances our appreciation for grace and the sacrifices made for our sake.
