How do we know that God is merciful and mighty?

Answered in 1 source

God's mercy and might are evidenced through Scripture and His actions in history, especially in Christ’s work of salvation.

God's attributes of mercy and might are beautifully intertwined in the Christian faith. Psalm 59 reflects this by illustrating how God is described as 'the God of my mercy' and 'my defense.' These expressions reveal His nature as a protector who is both powerful and compassionate. Christ exemplifies this duality; He is almighty, capable of conquering our greatest enemies like sin and death, and simultaneously extends mercy to the undeserving. As revealed in Romans 5:8, 'But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,' we see God's willingness to save through His might and mercy.
