How do we know that God is not confined to temples or churches?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God does not dwell in temples made by hands, as His presence transcends physical locations and is available to all people.

Scripture makes it clear that God does not confine Himself to physical buildings or temples. As Paul states in Acts 17:24, God is the Creator of the world and does not dwell in temples made with hands. This is reinforced by Solomon in 2 Chronicles 2:6, who acknowledges that even the grandest structures cannot contain God because the heavens cannot hold Him. True worship happens in spirit and truth, as indicated in John 4:24. Therefore, worship is not limited to a specific location, and believers can approach God directly, affirming that He is omnipresent and accessible at all times, whether in a church or elsewhere.
