How do we know that God is sovereign over our lives?

Answered in 3 sources

God's sovereignty is evidenced through Scripture, which affirms that He is in control of all things and has a purpose in everything that happens.

The sovereignty of God is a foundational doctrine in Reformed theology, significantly outlined in various scriptures. For instance, Proverbs 16:9 states, 'The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.' This affirms that while we may have our plans, ultimately, it is God who directs our paths. God's omniscience means that He knows all things—past, present, and future—simultaneously, which reinforces His sovereign control over the universe and our lives (Romans 8:28). This sovereignty encourages Christians to trust in God's ultimate purpose and goodness, even through trials, knowing that everything is part of His divine plan.
