How do we know that God is the source of spiritual light?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible clearly states that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all, indicating He is the ultimate source of spiritual illumination.

1 John 1:5 affirms that 'God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.' This passage establishes God as the source of all spiritual light and life. Just as no one can comprehend light without reference to its source, understanding spiritual truths requires revelation from God. He must illuminate the hearts and minds of individuals for them to grasp the mysteries of the gospel. Without His initiating grace, all human attempts at understanding are in vain. Therefore, it is through God’s mercy and illumination that we gain spiritual insight and meet our true selves as sinners needing salvation.
