How do we know that God is with us during our suffering?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us that God is present with His people in times of suffering, as seen in His promises throughout Scripture.

God’s assurance of His presence during times of suffering is a repeated theme in Scripture. In Isaiah 41:10, He tells His people, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee.' This personal, comforting promise serves to remind believers that they do not face trials alone. Additionally, in Revelation 2:10, Christ instructs the church at Smyrna not to fear what they are about to suffer, indicating His continuous support and sovereignty in their struggles. He knows their works and trials, offering the promise of the 'crown of life' as a reward for faithfulness in adversity. Thus, believers can rest in the truth that God’s presence is a constant source of comfort and strength when facing suffering.
