How do we know that God is with us in difficult times?

Answered in 6 sources

We can have assurance from Scripture and the example of faithful believers like Joseph that God remains with us during our trials.

The assurance of God's presence, especially during difficult times, is a foundational truth in Scripture. In Joseph's experience, despite being betrayed and wrongfully imprisoned, it is stated 'but God was with him' (Acts 7:9). This powerful affirmation that God accompanies His people in their struggles provides the necessary encouragement for believers. Similarly, the Apostle Paul affirms this reality, stating, 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' (Philippians 4:13). When believers face afflictions, they can draw strength from God's promises, knowing that their trials are not in vain and that ultimately, all things work together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
