How do we know that God loves His elect?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible assures us that God loves His elect, as evidenced by His chastening of them for their growth in holiness (Hebrews 12:6).

The love of God for His elect is most clearly manifest in His active engagement in their lives, particularly through discipline and chastening. Hebrews 12:6 states that 'whom the Lord loves, He chastens.' This signifies that God's love is not merely emotional or abstract; it is demonstrated through His actions aimed at bringing His children to maturity and holiness. Additionally, God's election of His people, based on His sovereign will before the foundation of the world, confirms His unchanging love and commitment to their salvation. Therefore, the assurance of God's love is intertwined with the promise of His ongoing work in the lives of those He has chosen.
