How do we know that God loves us unconditionally?

The unconditional aspect of God's love is demonstrated through the concept of propitiation, which means that His just anger against our sins has been satisfied by Christ’s sacrifice. As highlighted in 1 John 4:10, 'Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.' This indicates that our worthiness does not determine God’s love; rather, it stems from God's sovereign volition and intention to save a people for Himself.
