How do we know that God orchestrates our circumstances?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty is evident in scripture, indicating that all events align under His divine plan.

The letter to Philemon demonstrates God's sovereignty through the narrative of Onesimus, the servant who ran away from his master. Paul notes that Onesimus' departure might have been ordained by God so that he could be received not just as a servant, but as a brother in Christ (Philemon 15-16). This incident reflects the overarching truth found in Romans 8:28, where it states that 'God works all things together for good for those who love Him.' God uses our trials and tribulations, just as He did with Joseph in Genesis, to fulfill His purposes and to bring about His glory. Thus, as believers, we can trust that every circumstance in our lives is under the control of a sovereign God who is working for our ultimate good.
