How do we know that God preserves His people in old age?

Answered in 1 source

God's faithfulness to preserve His people is assured through His covenant promises and past mercies.

In the sermon, it is highlighted that God does not abandon His people, even as they grow old and face physical decline. David, in Psalm 71, confidently prays to be kept by the Lord’s strength and mercy, asking not to be cast off in his old age. This reflects the believer’s assurance grounded in God's character and His covenantal commitment to protect and save His elect. The assurance of preservation can be seen as a recurring theme throughout Scripture, where God's promise is shown to be steadfast, ensuring that those whom He has called and justified will not be lost.
