How do we know that God punishes the wicked?

Answered in 2 sources

Psalm 73 illustrates that while the wicked may prosper temporarily, their end is destruction.

The Psalmist reflects on the apparent prosperity of the wicked and confesses his struggle with envy. However, upon entering the sanctuary of God, he gains understanding and realizes that their path leads to destruction. Verses 18-20 declare, 'Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down into destruction.' This passage underscores the idea that God's justice will ultimately prevail, and the wicked who prosper in this life will face judgment. This doctrinal understanding reinforces the importance of looking beyond earthly circumstances to divine justice.
