How do we know that God reconciles us to Him?

Answered in 1 source

We are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, whose blood cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).

The assurance of our reconciliation to God is rooted in the work of Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:7 clearly states, 'the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son cleanses us from all sin.' This cleansing is foundational; it reconciles us to God and allows us to have fellowship with Him. The New Testament repeatedly emphasizes that our relationship with God hinges on accepting Christ's sacrificial death on our behalf. Without being cleaned by Christ's blood, we remain in darkness, separated from God (Colossians 1:20, Ephesians 1:7).
