How do we know that God regenerates believers?

Answered in 1 source

We know God regenerates believers because He acts according to His own will, independently of human effort, as seen in John 3:3.

The doctrine of regeneration, or being 'born again,' indicates that it is God's sovereign act that imparts spiritual life to those who believe. As Jesus explained in John 3:3, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. This illustrates that spiritual regeneration is not something a person can achieve through their own will; rather, it is a divine work prompted by God's mercy and grace. As emphasized in the sermon, if salvation depended on human choice, no one would be saved because all are spiritually dead and completely incapable of seeking God without His intervention (Romans 9:15). Therefore, the assurance we have regarding regeneration lies in God's explicit promise and His faithful execution of His will.
