How do we know that God's grace allows us to be free from sin?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace guarantees freedom from sin's dominion because we are not under the law but under grace, as stated in Romans 6:14.

In Romans 6:14, we are assured that sin shall not have dominion over us because we are under grace. This establishes a clear distinction; while the law demands obedience and exposes sin, grace provides liberation from its control. The believer, through Christ's redemptive work, is free from the law's condemnation and thus from sin’s rule. This freedom is cemented in the promise that because of God’s grace, we can live in righteousness rather than in sin, evidencing a transformed life that reflects our identity as children of God.
