How do we know that God's grace allows us to overcome sin?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace enables believers to resist sin and live righteously, as seen in Romans 6:14.

Romans 6:14 states, 'For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.' This passage assures believers that, while they still struggle with sin, the grace of God empowers them to overcome its dominion. The command to not let sin reign in our mortal bodies reflects the profound truth that salvation through grace does not condone sin but rather equips us to resist it. Believers are called to be dead to sin and alive unto God, demonstrating that true faith is always accompanied by a desire to pursue holiness instead of indulging in sin.
