How do we know that God's grace changes hearts?

Answered in 2 sources

The transformation of Saul from a persecutor to an apostle demonstrates the power of God's grace to change hearts.

Saul of Tarsus, initially a fierce opponent of the Gospel who consented to the stoning of Stephen, experienced a radical transformation through God's grace on the road to Damascus. This event illustrates how the Spirit of God can change anyone's heart, regardless of their past opposition or self-righteousness. In the same chapter, the Ethiopian eunuch exemplifies how a sincere search for God can lead to genuine faith when God orchestrates the circumstances for his Gospel to penetrate a seeking heart. As God's grace is sovereign, it can reach the most hardened of hearts and bring about repentance and faith.
