How do we know that God's grace does not exempt believers from the consequences of their choices?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are still held accountable for their choices, as evidenced by the story of Lot in Genesis.

The narrative of Lot demonstrates that although he was saved by grace, his poor decisions had severe repercussions. He chose to live among the wicked in Sodom, neglecting the importance of fellowship with like-minded believers and the worship of God. This separation from God's people and worship weakens his spiritual discernment, leading to a compromise of values, ultimately damaging his relationship with his family and hurting his witness. Lot's experience serves as a reminder that while God's grace is unchanging, our life choices lead to real consequences in this world.
