How do we know that God's grace is not to be turned into lasciviousness?

Answered in 1 source

God’s grace is a gift that leads to holiness, not license for sin (Jude 1:4).

In Jude 1:4, it is made clear that certain individuals pervert the grace of God into lasciviousness, using it as a justification for immoral behavior. This perversion illustrates a fundamental misunderstanding of grace. True grace, as presented in the Gospel, is meant to transform the believer into a new creation, fostering a life that glorifies God rather than indulges in sin. As Romans 6:1-2 illustrates, we do not continue in sin that grace may abound; rather, grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. Thus, the authentic expression of grace is always aligned with a call to holiness and obedience.
