How do we know that God's grace opens our eyes?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace is evidenced by our ability to see Christ as our Savior, as illuminated by the Holy Spirit (Luke 23:39-43).

The narrative of the blind man illustrates how we cannot open our spiritual eyes by our own effort; it requires the initiative of God. Jesus asked the blind man if he believed in the Son of God, demonstrating that faith is a response to God's revelation (John 9:35). Furthermore, when the thief on the cross recognizes Jesus, it is a clear act of irresistible grace where the Holy Spirit revealed Christ's true nature to him, allowing him to see and believe—showing us that it is God who graciously opens the eyes of the spiritually blind.
