How do we know that God's law requires perfection?

Answered in 2 sources

God's law necessitates perfect obedience, as indicated by the requirement for one to have clean hands and a pure heart to stand before Him.

God's law requires perfection because it establishes a standard for communion with Him. In Psalm 24, the question of who can ascend the hill of the Lord is answered by stating only those with clean hands and a pure heart can stand in His holy place. This aligns with Zechariah's message where he explains how the curse goes forth over the earth for those who break God's law. The necessity of upholding the law perfectly indicates that no sinner can approach God without being justified by faith in Christ's obedience, which fulfills the law's demands.
