How do we know that God's laws about obedience are true?

The truth of God's laws concerning obedience stems from His nature and His divine authority. Since God is the ultimate authority, His commands are a reflection of His righteousness. Scripture repeatedly presents that obedience leads to a life well-lived; as illustrated in Ephesians 6:1-3, where honoring one’s parents is the first command with a promise.
