How do we know that God's light represents His holiness?

Answered in 1 source

God's light signifies His holiness as it opposes all darkness, revealing His sinless nature.

The apostle John clearly states, 'God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all' (1 John 1:5). This statement is fundamental to understanding God's holiness because light, by definition, contrasts with darkness. All that is pure, good, and holy corresponds to light, whereas darkness represents sin and moral impurity. Holiness is intrinsic to God's nature; thus, understanding Him as light helps us grasp the complete absence of sin and imperfection. In proclaiming this truth, we affirm our belief in a God who is incapable of sin and whose judgments are always righteous.
