How do we know that God's love is different from human love?

Answered in 1 source

God's love is holy and unconditional, contrasting with human love, which is often based on feelings and external conditions.

God's love represents a perfect holiness, unlike the often conditional nature of human love. While human love can be self-serving and diminish in difficulty, God's love is steadfast and does not waver, irrespective of circumstances. It is important to differentiate between God's benevolence and His holy love; benevolence can be shown to those who do not love Him, whereas His love is directed towards His chosen people, exemplified in Christ's sacrifice for sinners while they were still enemies (Romans 5:8). Thus, understanding the nature of God's love helps believers reflect that same love in their interactions with others.
