How do we know that God's love is for the church?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us that all believers are loved by God, chosen and called to salvation.

In Romans 1:7, Paul writes to the beloved of God, indicating that God's love is particular, resting on those who are called to be saints. This love is not universal in a general sense but specific to those whom God has elected for salvation. The assurance of God's love is a fundamental truth for the church; it reminds us that our relationship with God is grounded in His sovereign choice and grace. The apostolic writings consistently affirm that God’s love encompasses His people, providing comfort and encouragement as we navigate our faith journey. Believers can find great assurance in knowing that they are beloved of God, elected from eternity, and called into a loving relationship with Him.
