How do we know that God's mercy is sufficient for sinners?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible assures us that God's mercy is abundant and unfailing, as illustrated in John 21 where Jesus forgives and restores Peter despite his denial.

Throughout scripture, God's mercy is described as immeasurable and renewing. In John 21, after Peter's denial, Jesus does not abandon him but seeks to restore their relationship, highlighting the depth of divine mercy. This scene serves to remind us that no matter how far we stray, God's willingness to forgive and extend grace remains steadfast. Romans 5:20 also tells us, 'where sin abounded, grace did much more abound,' reinforcing the beautiful truth that God’s mercy is always greater than our failures. This mercy empowers believers to live transformed lives and assures us of His faithfulness in every circumstance.
