How do we know that God's primary purpose is His glory?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture consistently affirms that God's primary purpose in all things is to demonstrate His glory.

Throughout the Bible, God's actions and decisions are demonstrated as being fundamentally centered on His glory. For example, in Psalm 106, despite the transgressions of Israel, we see that God saves them for the sake of His name. This principle is echoed in the New Testament, particularly in the context of Christ's sacrifice. John 12:28 shows God declaring, 'I have both glorified it and will glorify it again,' affirming that the death of Christ was the ultimate display of God's glory, fulfilling His plan of redemption. Ultimately, everything, including salvation and forgiveness, is achieved for the glory of God alone.
