How do we know that God's promises are unchanging?

Answered in 2 sources

God's promises are unchanging because they are founded on His unchanging character and faithfulness.

The faithfulness of God is a core principle found in the Scriptures, where it is declared that He cannot lie or be untrue to His nature. Paul's argument in Romans 3 highlights that God’s eternal purpose is not contingent upon human sin or unbelief. He reassures believers that God's promises remain valid and effective because they are established on His covenant faithfulness and not on the fickleness of man. Hence, even in the face of human unfaithfulness, God’s decree and promises prevail. This is consistent with passages across both the Old and New Testaments that assert His sovereign control over all circumstances.
