How do we know that God's salvation is a divine gift?

Answered in 1 source

God's salvation is a divine gift, granted to us through the hearing of the Word of truth.

According to Ephesians 1:13, our trust in Christ comes after we have heard the Word of truth, which is the gospel of our salvation. This gospel, coming from the God of Truth, is instrumental in bringing about faith and spiritual life in individuals. The Holy Spirit uses this Word to regenerate hearts, granting us the faith needed to believe. As Romans 10:17 indicates, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Thus, salvation is not something we achieve through our efforts but a precious gift from God received through faith.
