How do we know that God's sovereignty controls all things?

Scripture affirms that God is sovereign over all creation, including the workings of evil. In Romans 8:28, it is stated, 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.' This indicates that God orchestrates every event, using even the most adverse circumstances for the ultimate good of His chosen ones. When Paul speaks of a 'thorn in the flesh' that was a messenger of Satan, he recognizes that Satan operates under God's sovereignty, allowing for trials that serve a divine purpose.
