How do we know that God saves through His righteousness?

In Psalm 98, it is stated that the Lord has made known His salvation and revealed His righteousness to the heathen. This truth emphasizes that salvation belongs to God and is given freely by Him. God’s righteousness is manifested through Christ’s work: He fulfilled the law and paid the penalty for sin.
