How do we know that God saves us through Christ?

Answered in 1 source

We know God saves through Christ because of His everlasting covenant and the finished work of Christ on the cross.

David, in Psalm 27, reassures us of God's salvation, stating that the Lord is his light and salvation. In 2 Samuel 23:5, it is revealed that God made an everlasting covenant with David, a promise fulfilled in Christ. The New Testament elaborates on this through John 14:6, where Jesus declares, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' This ensures that our salvation rests wholly upon Christ, who accomplished all necessary righteousness and paid the debt for our sins. The confidence we have is that all who God has chosen are brought to Him through Christ, highlighting the certainty of our salvation in Him.
