How do we know that God sends trials for our benefit?

Answered in 1 source

The scripture assures us that trials come from God to teach us His statutes and direct our paths.

Experiencing trials and afflictions can be difficult, but the Bible assures us they are divinely orchestrated for our benefit. As seen in Psalm 119:71, David reflects on the goodness of affliction as a means to learn God's statutes. In the sermon, it is highlighted that God sent a famine to Jacob not just to affect him negatively, but to fulfill a sovereign purpose that ultimately saves much people alive. God's sending of trials is a testament to His commitment to teach us, mold us, and direct us closer to Him. Every trial serves a larger purpose in God's plan, reinforcing the belief that we can approach our difficulties with faith, knowing He is present with us through them.
