How do we know that God uses trials for good?

Answered in 2 sources

We can trust that God uses trials for our good because they help mature us and are designed to reveal the genuineness of our faith.

According to 1 Peter 1:6-7, trials confirm the genuineness of our faith, which is more precious than gold. Through these tribulations, the Holy Spirit works within us to produce fruit and reveal the truths of our nature, either confirming our faith or exposing falsehood. This process ultimately involves sanctification, drawing us closer to Christ and shaping us into His image. Each trial becomes a divine tool for growth in grace and for reliance on God’s promises.
