How do we know that God will fulfill His promises?

Answered in 8 sources

We know God will fulfill His promises because He has demonstrated His faithfulness throughout Scripture and has assured us through His Word.

Understanding that God fulfills His promises is rooted in the unchanging nature of God Himself, as well as the historical and prophetic witness found in Scripture. In Genesis 15:13-14, God explicitly tells Abraham of the future affliction of his descendants in Egypt before promising their eventual deliverance—a promise reiterated through the words of Joseph in Genesis 50:24. Thus, each promise of God, no matter how far off it may seem, is grounded in His immutable character. By believing what God has said in His Word, as Joseph did, we can have confidence that His plans will come to fruition, reminding us of His absolute sovereignty over all events.
