How do we know that God will judge sin?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible affirms that God is unchangeable in His judgment, as stated in Malachi 3:6, 'I am the Lord, I change not.'

God’s unchanging nature is foundational to His character, allowing us to trust in His judgments. In Malachi 3:6, the Lord declares, 'I am the Lord, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed.' This verse highlights God's steadfastness in mercy and judgment. Since He does not change, we can be assured that the biblical teachings of His righteous judgment are valid and constant. God’s judgments are not arbitrary; they stem from His holy and just nature, which means that unrepentant sin will lead to divine retribution. Believers can rest assured that while God's mercy is offered to those who repent, His justice will address sin accordingly.
