How do we know that God will shake the earth?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us of a future shaking of the earth at Christ's return, as indicated in Hebrews 12.

Scripture points to a definitive shaking of both heaven and earth that will occur at the second coming of Christ. Hebrews 12:25-27 states that God has promised, 'Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.' This shaking signifies the removal of all that is transient and sinful, leaving only that which cannot be shaken, namely God's kingdom and His elect. This prophetic assurance aligns with the consistent biblical narrative about God's judgment and renewal of creation, emphasizing that nothing linked to the temporal will last, but only what is part of Christ's eternal reign will endure.
